What you must do when you arrive in England largely depends upon your vaccination status.
Some travellers entering England who do not qualify as fully vaccinated are required to undertake post-travel Covid testing. D&A Screening offers a wide range of tests for travellers who fall under this category.
We recommend visiting the government website to confirm whether or not you meet the outlined requirements for entry into England. The situation remains dynamic and regulations can change with short notice. Therefore, it is important to regularly check the government website for changes.
These rules apply to England only. If you are travelling to Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, please refer to the official government website and follow the guidelines.
What is a day 2 test?
The Day 2 RT-PCR test is designed to help identify any potentially harmful variants of coronavirus at the earliest opportunity.
You can expect your Day 2 RT-PCR test results within 24 hours of receipt at the laboratory.
If you receive a positive result following your day 2 test, you must begin self-isolation immediately. People you live with and/or have travelled with should also follow the latest government guidance for close contacts of positive coronavirus cases.”
How much is a Day 2 test?
Our Day 2 tests cost £99. Upon receipt, the laboratory will have the results of your Day 2 RT-PCR test within 24 hours.
What does my day 2 test kit include?
Your private test kit will include instructions, a cotton swab, sample tube, clear sealable bag and a return box with a security label.
Does the day 2 test include genomic sequencing?
Under current government guidelines, all Day 2 RT-PCR tests that return positive results must undergo further testing. This includes genomic sequencing.

What is a passenger locator form?
A passenger locator form will be used to contact you if someone you travelled with develops Covid-19 symptoms. It may also be used to check that you are following the quarantine rules that apply to you.
What are day 2 and 8 tests?
Under current government guidelines, travellers who do not qualify as fully vaccinated, must perform a Covid-19 test on or before Day 2 of their return to the UK following international travel. How do I book a day 2 and 8 test package?

Can I take my Day 2 and 8 tests early?
Under current rules, you can perform your Day 2 test on or before Day 2 of your arrival in England. However, you may only carry out your Day 8 on or after Day 8.
Are day 2 and 8 tests compulsory for all UK arrivals?
No. Currently, testing is only necessary for those travellers who arrive in England and do not qualify as fully vaccinated.
Do I need both day 2 and 8 tests if I am fully vaccinated?
No. Under current rules, if you qualify as fully vaccinated for travel to England, you are not required to take a COVID-19 test or quarantine following your arrival.
When can I leave quarantine?
Under current rules, if you are entering England and are a traveller for whom testing is required, it is not necessary to quarantine upon your arrival. However, if the result of your RT-PCR test is positive, you must begin isolating immediately.
Am I allowed to travel to your clinic to conduct my Covid-19 test?
Yes. Under current rules, you are not required to quarantine upon arrival to England. However, if the result of your RT-PCR test is positive you must begin isolating immediately.

Fit to Fly Test
A fit to fly certificate is a medical certificate signed by an NHS trained UK General Medical Council (GMC) doctor. The certificate will show that you have tested Negative for Covid-19 having taken an RT-PCR Test and are fit to fly.

Our Covid-19 swab tests are fully certified and accredited by UKAS and PHE, ensuring your test results will be accepted by your airline and embassy. The RT-PCR antigen swab test is the only test which is universally accepted by all airlines.
You must be able to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test result if you are not fully vaccinated.
Your Covid-19 test must be taken within 2 days before travelling to England.
If you are required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test result and fail to do so, you may be refused entry by either UK or Foreign border authorities. Please see the government website for more information.
Travel Test Package

It’s mandatory to perform two Covid-19 tests after upon returning to the UK from international travel. You’re required to perform a test on or before day 2 for variant surveillance and another test on or after day 8 of your quarantine to check you do not have coronavirus.

Test to Release
If you arrive in England from somewhere outside the UK, Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man it is mandatory to quarantine for 10 days on arrival. Under the Test to Release scheme you can choose to pay for a private COVID-19 test with a provider like D&A Screening. If the result is negative, you can end your self-isolation period. Please note that you cannot take a test until you have been in England for 5 full days.

No, Test to Release is voluntary. If you choose not to take part in the Test to Releaser scheme you must self isolate for 10 days upon return from a country not on the travel corridor list.
